Event Description:
My name is Josh and I work in the Center
for Teaching and Learning at Queens College. One of the many exciting
projects that we put out during the pandemic is the Pedagogy of Kindness (PoK) discussion series. For
the third iteration of PoK, I am thrilled to announce that we are
expanding beyond our home campus and inviting faculty from around CUNY
to speak as either solo presenters or be part of a panel, depending on
the topic.
The Pedagogy of Kindness
is an instruction style that is rooted in the care of the classroom,
students, and of the educator. In the past, we have had a combination of
both panels and individual faculty presenters to discuss various
topics, tools, instruction styles, and so forth, that lend kindness and
thoughtfulness to the classroom setting. Previous discussions have
included Gamifying Multilingualism; Mindfulness in the Classroom;
Trauma-Informed Teaching; Alternative Assessment Panel; Inclusivity,
Engagement, and Neurodivergence; and more.
Because we are taking PoK CUNY-wide, I
wanted to see if there were any faculty in your schools that you could
recommend or have shown interest in being presenters or panelists for
sessions that focus on various aspects of creating a kinder classroom
environment. Additionally, linked here is a form for a call for presenters. |
