Event Description
Stunning film created for the History Channel for Black History Month 2013. Compelling stories of the lives of African Americans from Emancipation to the start of the modern Civil Rights Movement. Rarely seen footage from national and regional archives. Indiewire.com says, "Stories from the Road to Freedom is an unparalleled opportunity to see and hear from remarkable individuals who - for better or worse, whether they were aware of it or not - paved the way through the greatest social movement in American history." Film preceded by panel discussion with film-makers and History Channel representative. Sponsored by African American Studies Department and Black Women's Networking Committee. Atrium Amphitheatre.
