Event Description:
In the early 1950s, Welsh poet Dylan Thomas embarked on two American speaking tours, hoping to cement his reputation as the best lyric poet of the 20th century and secure his financial future. Instead, separated from the woman and country he loved and faced with endless temptations, his remarkable genius was cut short.

Do Not Go Gentle Productions and City Tech Theatreworks will be mounting a full production of this remarkable play about the last two years in the poet’s life. DYLAN will feature a automated set design with state-of-the-art lighting and sound, thanks to the marvelous faculty and staff of the City Tech Entertainment Technology department. This unique partnership will allow what would otherwise be a show too complicated and expensive to produce today. DYLAN also offers the students at City Tech firsthand experience in building and running a fully realized professional play with a multiple-week run.
